David's Story
David has been working in theatre design and technical theatre in professional and academic settings for over a decade. After receiving a bachelor’s degree from Auburn University and a master’s degree from The University of Illinois, David has been teaching design and technical theatre at a college level since 2002.
As a theatre educator, David has experience with both volunteer and student workforces. “Teach while doing” has always been a strong motto in his career. He has taught and designed both four-year institutions such as Radford University and Shenandoah University; and two-year colleges like Parkland College, Trident Technical College, and Northwest Mississippi Community College.
David has also worked with professional theatres as a designer, technical director, and scenic charge in several areas of the south. His credits include Playhouse on the Square in Memphis, Tennessee; Charleston Stage Company in Charleston, South Carolina; and Peach State Summer Theatre in Valdosta, Georgia. His most recent design of THE ADDAMS FAMILY is currently showing in Bigfork, Montana at Bigfork Summer Playhouse.
Currently based out of Atlanta, David is available for freelance design, instructional classes, and technical projects. He is willing to travel or telecommute. If interested, please email him at davidmorgandesigns@gmail.com for more information.
